| CASE STUDY: HANDCRAFTED PAPER
CUT-OUT
|
We wanted to create our own explainer video to show the standard development process for an
animation. We also wanted to highlight a few different renders styles with clips from previous
web movies. We decided to use a handcrafted, paper cut-out style to tell the main story,
because we think it's a very engaging and fun visual technique. But remember, it's just
an illusion, no scissors or felt tip pens were used in the creation of this video!

YOU NEED AN EXPLAINER VIDEO ON YOUR WEBSITE - NOW!
Why? Take a look at the following facts:
 |
|
Most website visitors would rather watch a video than read
a webpage, and with video they'll retain over 50% more of your message. |
| |
|
|
 |
|
Web videos greatly improve your Google search ranking and are easy to
share on social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, etc. |
| |
|
|
 |
|
Explainer videos and 'how to' videos improve your business credibility
and brand awareness, and also increase website conversions and sales. |
But don't take our word for it, try a Google search for " online
video statistics" to
see why every company should have a video on their website.
SIMPLIFY COMPLEXITY
Who you are, what you do, how something works - all of these things are critical
messages that you want your website visitors to understand, as quickly as possible,
and with very little effort. That's where an Explainer video excels. Explainer
videos
can
simplify
the most complex products or services with a short, entertaining movie.
The secret is to use simplistic visuals, plain English, and a casual but
professional
voice-over.
Characters
and
objects
can
be cartoons, silhouettes, stick figures, or even handcrafted paper cut outs
(made popular by the Commoncraft series of explainer videos).

For
rapid development DIGITALmotion has a large range of pre-built
3D objects
and cartoon
characters, including simple stick figures, which
can be rendered
in a variety of different styles. This means that we
can create animations that look like traditional
3D, flat cartoon, silhouette or hand-drawn paper cut-outs, without the usual
restrictions of 2D animation. In other words, we can easily change
the camera angle or rotate an
object without having to re-draw everything! |
